Upcoming Events:

We've got next semester's caving planned. In short we're going to Yorkshire (BPC), South Wales (SWCC), Yorkshire (The Farm) and then North Wales (Clogwynn hut). We also have two AU ticket selling nights to make tasty tasty money for the club, these both happen to fall on signup-Wednesdays.

Wednesday February 2nd - AU Ticket Selling. Come and support your club helping us to sell tickets for the AU social at Tiger Tiger. If you can't make it in the evening, perhaps you can help us with flyering during the day. In past years it's enabled us to make loads of money for the club for new equipment etc. All the more important as the Government spending review means university sport (and thus our club budget) is being cut significantly next year.

Thursday Lunch Club 3rd Feb - Contact Theatre 12:45-14:00, you can come and sign up if you couldn't make it on Wednesday.

February 5-7th: Bradford Potholing Club, Yorkshire: On the hill by Penyghent this hut is very comfy and walking distance from Gaping Gill (the chamber as big as St Paul's Cathedral). We'll also be visiting Penyghent Pot and Long Drop as well as some other caves that weekend. (Max 15 people) IMPORTANT: because we'll be selling AU tickets on the Wednesday, signups will be taken down at Owen's Park. I'll be in one of the two main quads to take cash/cheques. I will have my phone with me.

February 26-27th: South Wales Caving Club: Some excellent trips in South Wales. OFD is 100m from the hut and can offer a 7 hour through trip or shorter in-and-out trips. I've also organised a trip to Dan Yr Ogof. This is a showcave that leads to an awesome (more real) cave. Wetsuits required as there's wading through chest-deep water for a while - several club members have them so good possibilities of borrowing one.

Wendesday 9th March: Our second AU ticketing night. Same details as above, including signup arrangements for the next trip.

March 12-13th: Bull Pot Farm: A wonderful hut in Yorkshire as you know. Walking distance from several beautiful caves. Always an excellent party venue too.

April 1-2nd: Clogywnn Mountaineering Hut, North Wales: A new hut for the club to visit, this hut is very near to Croesor slate mine, as well as many others. In Croesor there are zip-wires and you get to abseil into a dinghy before being pulled across an underground lake. It's got huge passages and chambers with a small amount of scrambling over big scree (talus?). The hut only takes 12 people, so sign up quickly when we announce this one.

That's all folks. Remember we often go for trips outside the official club weekends, so if you can't make it to an official weekend, just ask at the pub and something's likely to be happening.

After these trips many folk are going to Mallorca for one or two weeks - some awesome caving and canyoning to be done there. After that we have our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in May to elect next year's committee and our Annual Meal around then too.
